FORD EcoBoost Tuning

            Welcome to Calibrated Power Solution’s EcoBoost Tuning Suite! Whether you’ve purchased an EZ Lynk or nGauge, all of our tunes are designed with Smart Octane which adjusts the timing curve based on sensed octane in the fuel.  The higher octane fuel you run, the more power the truck will make. Owners of 2015+ models are equipped with Flex-Fuel (Ethanol) sensing capabilities as well alter the target air fuel ratio without a tune change if ethanol is detected in the fuel system! Depending on your model EcoBoost you will either have 3 or 6 tunes available for you. The Flex-Fuel tunes are designed to work with 87-93 Octane and E10-E45 fuel without having to change tunes. If you’re running an Ethanol specific file it’s our expectation that you run between E30 - E45.  This link will allow you to calculate how many gallons of E85 to mix with regular unleaded to achieve the desired ethanol level. 

Flex Tow

-Designed for towing. All temperature and torque reductions are in place to keep the trucks' powertrain protected from thermal overload and abuse. CPS does not recommend towing over the GVWR of the vehicle and expects the driver to use good judgement to avoid abusing the vehicle with the extra power. Situations like full throttle starts and excessive lugging in manual mode can and will cause parts degradation. 

Built for towing while running any Octane gasoline with E0 - E30 ethanol content.  Use of higher octane fuel will support more power, torque, and better mileage. 

E Tow

-Designed for towing with Ethanol blended fuel (E30-E45 recommended). All temperature and torque reductions are in place to keep the trucks' powertrain protected from thermal overload and abuse. Flex Sport

- The Sport tune is your go to daily driver file.  This is the best balance of performance, reliability and economy for daily use.  The file has loosened up torque limits and more power than the tow tune, but with most of the relevant safety features still enabled. This tune is not designed to be used for towing.  It’s intended to be used without a load behind it.

Built for routine unloaded use running any Octane gasoline with E0 - E30 ethanol content.  Use of higher octane fuel will support more power, torque, and better mileage. 

E Sport

High Flow downpipes and intakes are recommended for Race files.  We also recommend the use of an upgraded fuel pump in the tank such as the Deatchwerks 400 or similar to avoid power loss from fuel system limitations.

The Ethanol specific tunes (2015+ model year) are the same logic but we are able to take advantage of the higher octane and cooling benefits of E30-E45 fuel by starting with a more advanced timing curve and revised air fuel curves in each file.  Best performance is generally a balance between fuel system ability and octane rating.  The higher ethanol content in the fuel system, the higher the octane, but the more fuel system capacity is required as the system requires more fuel volume to make the same power when ethanol concentration increases.  With Ethanol, we highly recommend running a Deatchwerks 400 or similar fuel pump at a minimum. Intakes, charger air pipes, inter-cooler & down-pipes will all benefit the truck while running the Race-Ethanol (or the Race-Flex) file. 

If you’re interested in running straight E85 at full power you’ll want to consider an upgraded pump in-tank and an upgraded high pressure fuel pump. nGauge: Requires a read of your stock file. .(http://e-motionproducts.com/updates/nGauge/nGauge_Manual.pdf)

 The New Vehicle setup: 

 1. Plug nGauge into the vehicle. 

2. Turn the vehicle’s key to the on position. The engine does not need to be started. 
3. From the nGauge main menu, Tap [Gauges], tap [connect]. 
4. Tap [Select the correct make and model for your vehicle]. 
5. Follow the on-screen instructions. When nGauge lists how many signals were found, nGauge has finished. 
6. Tap the [√] button to confirm the selection once scanning has been completed.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 every time nGauge is connected to a new vehicle.

Now you need to read the stock file off the vehicle. Select Tuning-> Toggle Down to Read tune-> Follow the Prompts on the screen.

Your stock file is now stored on the MicroSD card that was installed into the nGauge. Remove the SD card from nGauge & Install it into your computer. Once plugged into your computer, open your file folders. You should see one that says nGauge, select it. Then find the Stock file folder. Download, drag, or drop that onto your desktop. Now attach that file into an email to Stockfile@duramaxtuner.com. Please Put your order number and the Name on the order in the subject and text! In 1-2 business days you will receive your new mod files back.

Now that you have received your new tunes from us, please download them onto your desktop. Now Copy and paste them into the custom files folder on your Micro SD card. You may now take the SD card and reinstall it into the nGauge. If you need to do a firmware update on the nGauge or drop in dash layouts sent by the tuner that is also done in this folder selection before removing your MicroSD card from the computer. 

Install your Micro SD card back into the nGauge. Key the truck on, do not start. Select tuning -> Load Tune-> Tap the tune you would like to install and follow the prompts on the screen. This process usually takes 6-10 minutes for an Entire flash. Please stay with the Vehicle. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH THE TRUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR IN an UNSAFE LOCATION. THIS IS BEST DONE IN YOUR DRIVEWAY OR A PARKING LOT CLOSE TO HOME. 

EZLYNK INSTALL:

Once you have received your EZ Lynk. Please download the AutoAgent APP on your phone or tablet. Create an account. Please use an active email address as we use this to communicate for further support and updates.

You may now head out to your vehicle and connect the AutoAgent to the OBD2 port; located on the driver’s side under the dash. Please do this in a safe location and not on the side of the road. Unforeseen circumstances can happen when flashing your truck so it is best if you are not familiar with the platform to do this during business hours. 

1: Connect to OBD2 Port and key on. Do not start.

2: Open the Wifi settings on your phone or tablet.

3. Find the EZ Lynk network and connect.(you may need to disconnect from another network)

4. Open the AutoAgent app. Once connected to the vehicle, our EZ Lynk technician should prompt you to link. If it does not, you can manually link us by selecting the 3 lines in the upper left hand corner (this is your main menu) and hit vehicle. Then Select technicians. If yours is blank you may add Ezlynk@duramaxtuner.com. If you see you have a technician but can’t find your tunes hit the menu bar in the upper left corner again. Then Vehicle-> Tunes. If your profiles are available they will be here.

5. Linking your EZ Lynk should be quick and simple. If it does not Auto-link, after you have added us please call and confirm your order with customer service. We can send over your files within minutes typically.

6. Tuning: Select the menu tab-> Vehicles-> Tuning-> Find the profile you would like to flash→ Download from the cloud→ Install. Follow the Prompts on the screen.

7. Once installed you can now go back to the main menu and get to your gauges and diagnostic screen.
